Trainee Research Day 2024
On October 25th, the C.S. Mott Center for Human Growth and Development hosted it’s very first Trainee Research Day. There were many talks and posters from trainees across the C.S. Mott Center. Dr. Philip W. Jordan, Professor at Uniformed Services University, gave the keynote talk and participated in the career panel with Dr. Strubakos, Radhika Gogoi, and 10x Genomics. We thank them for all of there insight and advice. Lab members Karolina Nowak and DruAnne Maxwell were selected for trainee talks. Amanda Paskavitz, Savni Sawant, and Karolina Nowak all presented posters at the event. DruAnne won first prize for Best Oral Presentation and Savni tied for first place for Best Poster Presentation. Congratulations to everyone who presented at this years Trainee Research Day, it was a spectacular event!
Discovery to Cure 2024
Summer is always busy here in the Pilsner Lab. We would like to congratulate our three summer interns from the DTC 2024 program: Seaha Kim, Yusuf Najy, and Anais Ndione! We are proud to see how much they have accomplished in 8 weeks in our lab. Congratulations and good luck in your future endeavors! It was a pleasure to have you in our lab!
American Society of Andrology Conference 2024
Dr. Pilsner and lab members: Karolina, DruAnne, Savni, and Amanda had the exciting opportunity to attend the American Society of Andrology conference this year in Denver, Colorado. Karolina, Savni, and Amanda all received the travel awards for the event. Savni was selected for an oral presentation, which was titled “Associations between sperm epigenetic age and semen parameters”. DruAnne gave a 3 minute flash talk titled “Single-cell RNA sequencing of PFAS exposed mice testes – preliminary study” which won the People’s Choice Award for Best Flash Talk at the conference. Congratulations to everyone for their achievement and we look forward to another great conference next year!
GSRPD
Wayne State University School of Medicine hosted their Graduate Student’s Research Presentation Day on February 28th. Amanda, Karolina, and DruAnne all presented posters on their research. Sanvi gave a flash talk as well as presenting a poster. Great work on all of your projects thus far!
MARTS 2023
Dr. Pilsner and lab members DruAnne, Savni, and Amanda had the opportunity to participate in the Michigan Alliance for Reproductive Technologies and Sciences this year, hosted by Michigan State University in Grand Rapids, MI. We are proud to announce that Savni Sawant gave an oral presentation titled: “The associations between Sperm Epigenetic Age and Semen Parameters” and was awarded “Best Oral Presentation”. Congratulations to, Savni!

50th Anniversary Celebration
In June of 2023, the C.S. Mott Center for Human Growth and Development celebrated 50 years of research. The Pilsner Lab, along with other colleagues, attended the Detroit Tigers game for a day of fun and celebration.
