Per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS) have been a major focus in the news recently. Dr. Pilsner, collaborator Dr. Michael Petriello, and PhD candidate DruAnne have had the opportunity to speak to reporters about our latest research about PFAS. A quote from DruAnne Maxwell in the Public News Service article “WSU study reveals PFAS chemicals in men affect their offspring”; "There's not a lot of emphasis on male contribution, and so we're trying to, like, turn the tides and show people that men do matter."

Dr. Pilsner had the opportunity to speak to reporters about microplastics and male reproductive health. The following is a quote from the article “Microplastics found in penis muscle for the first time. It could be linked to erectile dysfunction.”, “Recent work he's done suggested that men with higher levels of plasticizers and plastic chemicals in their bodies see their sperm age faster, in a similar way to cigarette smokers.”

Dr. Pilsner and collaborator Dr. Michael Petriello had the opportunity to speak to reporters about our latest research about PFAS. A quote from the article “Fathers' Exposure to 'Harmful' Forever Chemicals May Impact Children”: “Scientists have discovered a link between being exposed to per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS)—also known as "forever chemicals" due to their tendency not to break down—and health issues in their children, according to a new paper in the journal Environment International.

 

New Grant Awarded
